  • Union Government has reduced the minimum annual deposit requirement under Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme to 250 rupees from 1,000 rupees previously.
  • Gujarat government has launched Suryashakti Kisan Yojana for farmers. It is a solar power scheme which will enable the farmers to generate electricity for their own consumption as well as to sell the surplus power to the grid to earn some extra money other than farming.
  • President Ram Nath Kovind launched “Sanchar Kranti Yojana” from Chattisgarh. There is a smartphone distribution scheme under this called “Mobile Tihar”. Though IBPS doesn’t care but remember that Kangana Ranaut was also present at the launch of the scheme.

  • Madhya Pradesh state government has launched an outstanding power bill waiver scheme called “Sambal”. Under Sambal Yojana, electricity will be provided to BPL families at a cost of 200 rupees per month.
  • Kanya Van Samrudhhi Yojana is launched by Maharashtra state government. Under this scheme plant sampling will be given to families of farmers on the birth of girl child.
  • Chattisgarh CM Raman Singh launched an app named as “Aabhar aapki Sewa ka” which will provide information related to pension and payments to the state pensioners.
  • Andhra Pradesh government has launched a mobile app platform “e-Rythu” which will enable small-scale farmers to market their produce at reasonable prices.
  • Indu Bhushan has been appointed as the CEO of Ayushmaan Bharat Scheme.
  • External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj launched a new Passport Seva App. This will enable people to apply for passport online.
  • Suresh Prabhu launched a mobile application called “ReUnite” which will help to track and trace missing and abandoned children in India.
  • Suresh Prabhu launched a mobile app named as “Niryat Mitra”. It will provide a wide range of information related to trade.
  • Election Commission of India has launched a mobile app “C-Vigil” which will enable citizens to report any violation of the modal code of conduct during the elections.
  • Union Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan unveiled a state of art Air Quality and Weather Forecast System “SAFAR” in New Delhi. SAFAR stands for System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting.
  • Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has launched the “Green Mahanadi Mission“.
  • President of India Ram Nath Kovind has launched Solar Charkha Mission which is an initiative of the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
  • Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani launched a statewide mission called as “POSHAN Abhiyaan” to eradicate malnutrition among the children by providing them nutritious food through Anganwadi centres.
  • “PURNA” project has also been launched by Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to eliminate malnutrition among the girls in the age of 14 to 18 years. PURNA stands for Prevention of Under Nutrition & Reduction of Nutritional Anaemia among Adolescent Girls.
  • Union government has announced that the treatment of childhood cancer will be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana which was earlier called as Ayushmaan Bharat Scheme.
  • Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister gave its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme O-SMART. O-SMART stands for “Ocean services, Technology, Observation, Resources Modelling & Science”.
  • To promote a culture of innovation and research in higher education, HRD ministry launched the “ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements” (ARRIA). The ARRAI will rank educational institutions for innovation output based on all major indicators & parameters used globally.
  • HRD Ministry has launched a new project called “SWAYAM”  which will provide one integrated platform for the online course. SWAYAM stands for “Study Webs of Active learning for Young Aspiring Minds.”
  • Union Minister Piyush Goel has launched the Coal Mine Surveillance & Management System (CMSMS) and a mobile application “Khan Prahari”.
